About The Adviser's Contest

The Adviser’s Contest provides California’s high school students with the opportunity to gain a hands-on learning experience while competing with other students from across the state!

  • Students teams are assigned a mentor– who is typically a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or professional with a background in finance–and a fictional client case study
  • Over 4 weeks, students prepare a presentation with their mentor in anticipation of the virtual competition day

We’ve included two retired case studies from the CCEE archives to give you a sense of what this year’s case studies will be like.

This test is optional for you to use in class to determine which teams will compete in the live final

These lessons and materials can be used with a class, club, or any setting to help prepare students for the contest. They cover the wide range of topics that will be dealt with in The Adviser’s Contest.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER STUDENT TEAMS

Student teams must be registered by Thursday, November 5th at 4:00 PM (PT) in order to be paired with a mentor.

Teacher Virtual “Office Hours” + Mentor Assignments Issued

Teachers are welcome to drop by CCEE’s open “office hours” and ask any questions about the contest. Mentor assignment lists will also be emailed and issued to teachers at 3:30 PM.
