Mentors and Judges Needed!

Volunteer Commitment:
6 hours over a 3-week period

Mentors are paired with student teams to help them prepare a presentation based on an assigned case study over the course of 4 weeks in preparation for a live contest. Case studies detail fictional clients and financial advising scenarios.

Desired Mentor Backgrounds:
  • Finance
  • Investing
  • Financial Advising
  • CFA/CFP/BCM/BCS/CEP + more welcome!

Volunteer Commitment:
4 hours (includes 30 min. prep meeting)

Judges listen to students prepared presentations, ask thoughtful questions, and provide constructive feedback on the day of The Adviser’s Contest. They determine the ultimate champions.

About The Adviser's Contest

The Adviser’s Contest provides California’s high school students with the opportunity to gain a hands-on learning experience while competing with other students from across the state!

  • Students are assigned a mentor and a fictional client case study
  • Over 4 weeks, students prepare a presentation with their mentor in anticipation of the virtual competition day

Run-Through with Judges and Mentors 

Judges and mentors will be prepared for the contest during a quick run-through the day before. This will also be the time that CCEE can answer any outstanding questions from judges and mentors.
